What does Greenville County Council do?
The Greenville County Council approves the county spending, shapes local policies on social issues at a county level, and oversees county-wide public services.
Where and when does the County Council meet?
The Council meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 6pm. Council chambers are located in the North building at 301 University Ridge, Greenville, SC 29601
How will I know what Council is discussing that day?
The County Council website will publish the agenda for the upcoming meeting either the day before or the day of the meeting. You can find the current agenda at this link, as well as past agendas. There will also be physical copies available in the lobby that day. Agendas also give you an idea of what to expect from the meeting: the order of events, the issues to be addressed, etc.
I’d like to address Council. Where do I sign up, and what should I expect?
You may sign up online the Monday before the meeting starting at 4:45pm and ending at 4:45 on the day of the meeting. If you sign up online, you must check in when you arrive before entering the conference room
You may also sign up in-person between 5:15 and 5:45 on the day of the meeting. Each person gets 3 minutes to address council members, so be sure to know what you’re going to say!
Where can I park?
Conveniently, there is a free parking garage right next to the North building. Be sure to park on the fourth floor, as this will give you direct access to the building!
I can’t make it to the meeting. Can I watch online?
Yes! This link gives you access to the Greenville County Council youtube page, where you can find the recordings of every meeting.
